Mario Ruiz
Mario Ruiz was born in Alicante, Spain, in 1965. After graduating in Industrial Design from ELISAVA in Barcelona, he founded Mario Ruiz Design in 1995, with his projects ranging from furniture, lighting, and workplace systems to technology, electronics, and strategic design consultancy. Driven by a belief that function forms the foundation of design identity, his practice focuses on resolving proportions, details, and material construction to create quiet, precise, and highly functional solutions. He has collaborated with more than 120 companies worldwide, including Siemens, Steelcase, Teknion, Offecct, Lapalma, Arflex, and Haworth. Recognized with Spain’s National Design Award in 2016 and over 50 international honors such as Red Dot, iF Design, and Best of NeoCon awards—his practice delivers enduring, versatile products that integrate seamlessly into daily life.
