Teppo Asikainen
Teppo Asikainen was born in Finland in 1968. He emerged as a key figure in contemporary Finnish design during the 1990s as a co-founder of the influential Snowcrash collective, later becoming a partner at the Helsinki-based architecture and design practice Valvomo. His multidisciplinary portfolio encompasses furniture, acoustic solutions, lighting, products, and spatial environments. Driven by a forward-looking approach, his studio focuses on merging functional Scandinavian principles with experimental materials, acoustic innovation, and new technologies. He has collaborated with prominent design brands such as Offecct and Inno, creating iconic works like the Soundwave® Swell acoustic panel, the Chip rocking chair, and the Globlow lamp. Held in permanent collections like MoMA in New York and recognized with honors such as a Fennia Prize distinction, his practice delivers expressive, high-performance solutions for evolving modern spaces.
